New Windows 10 Ver. 1607 Cumulative Update: March 23

Microsoft has released a new Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version
1607. Each new cumulative update contains all security fixes and updates
from all earlier builds. The version name is for the month and year of the
major update release. The new build number is 10.0.14393.969.
It's currently available as a free download through
Windows Update.

Windows 10 Version 1607 can be installed and activated from scratch
using the previous Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 Product Key.

Windows 10 is the latest addition to the Windows Operating System line,
and was available as a free update for one year from its July 29, 2015
debut for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.

Microsoft intends Windows 10 to be a service with a regular stream of
updates and upgrades rather than introducing new versions of Windows every
couple of years.

When installing Windows 10, be careful to select 'Customize Settings'
rather than 'Use Express Settings' which by default sends a lot of
personal information to Microsoft including contacts, user details and
passwords for wireless connections.

Microsoft released a Security Advisory earlier this week about a Critical
